Two new CDs and One new VCD1

Whew its finally over and both dogs have their CDs. What a weekend. Both Lyric and Whisper in fact earned their third legs on the same day. Talk about nerve wracking trying to find a handler for sits and down……….that the dogs would accept and listen to/obey. Lyric is my “beauty queen” not the easiest dog to train-a more typical greyhound personality and Whisper is the performance star. However Lyric earned her CD with three 1st places, one at our specialty and two at all breed obedience trials/breed shows. She is slow and steady-I rarely have to worry about her nerves and in fact she was the one that was given to my friend Lisa to handle in sits and downs. She is so steady I almost feel relaxed showing her in the obedience ring( a rare thing for me).

Whisper is so flashy but the stars have to be lined up correctly for her to shine. Although she is capable of such great performances both times she placed second to her sister Lyric. The stars weren’t quite aligned correctly but she twice place second at all breed shows/obedience trials(to her sister). She also earned her RE that weekend. In addition by getting her third obedience leg and hence CD she earned the AKC performance based title VCD1(versatile canine dog). To earn this title dogs must have a CD TD NA and NAJ. To date there have only been three greyhounds earn this title-the last one was her aunt Spirit. So all in all I am proud of both dogs and their working ability.

Congrats to you all!
